Guide to keeping Listia free for you!

Author: Link | Filed under: Already Free / Freeware

Listia is a site similar to eBay, where you bid on items that people auction off. However, instead of bidding money, you use Listia’s own internal economy using “credits”. While you can buy credits, it costs a lot less to follow the guide below to get them free. :)

1. Sign up with someone’s referral. You’ll both get a bonus when you list an auction.
2. Don’t list your first auction until you get an email saying you’ll get bonus credits to do so; they give you a special link. :)
3. Connect your Facebook and twitter accounts. That’s 100 credits right there!
4. Visit the site every day! You get XP for checking in and sometimes you’ll get random bonus credits for doing so!
5. Bid on popular things when the auction is young and the bids are low. For example, if I saw a bid on a good portable DVD player, I’d start at the lowest bid and bid until it stops giving me XP. Sometimes you’ll get 5 extra bonus credits just from making a bid. Later on, someone will outbid you unless you didn’t even hit the high bid. ;)
6. I don’t know what they’re planning to do with the XP system, but earn XP as much as you can! Bid for it and check in as described above.
7. Try to sell things you can send online, such as Coke rewards codes. When the auction is over, you can just send those in an email and avoid shipping costs. Plus, you’ll get any credits the winning person bid.
8. Include pictures in your auctions! More users will trust you and you get extra credits when you’ve earned the Seller Wings badge!
9. VOTE! Certain Listia auctions can be voted on, once per day. This will give you 2XP to go towards your user experience/level. It’s still not entirely known what Listia is planning to do with it, but it’s best to earn early! :)
10. Leave feedback! It only takes a couple seconds and you’ll get XP and sometimes credits for doing so.
11. Refer your friends! Send friends your referral link so they have bonus credits when they sign up and you’ll receive additional credits when they list their first auction, depending on how much it goes for.

If there’s anything you think I missed or any additional suggestions, just comment below and I’ll add it to this list. Anything against their rules, of course, will not be put on here.

At the time of this writing, I’ve been a member of Listia for less than a month and I’ve been able to get 314 credits totally free! If some of my referred friends start listing items, I’ll start getting more! :) Click below if you want to get started with my referral. :)
